Iran should pay for a possible mine clearance operation in the Strait of Hormuz. That is the demand of Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU), according to a report by Handelsblatt. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important waterways for global oil transport.
At the same time, Wadephul speaks out in favor of a lower frequency of the annual NATO summit. He advocates a rethink regarding the number of meetings of the defense alliance. NATO currently holds a summit at the level of heads of state and government every year.
