The German government has reported record defense spending of 124.7 billion euros to NATO for 2026, the alliance announced at the start of its summit in Ankara.

According to NATO calculations, the share of defense spending in Germany’s gross domestic product (GDP) reaches 2.69 percent – up from 2.22 percent in the previous year.
