Kostjuk needed just 69 minutes to overcome her opponent. The match ended in two sets, 6:3, 6:2. In the semi-final on Thursday, the Ukrainian will face Czech player Linda Noskova, who beat Elise Mertens.
This is Kostjuk’s second consecutive Grand Slam semi-final. At the French Open in Paris, she lost to eventual champion Mirra Andreeva. The other semi-final features Coco Gauff against Karolina Muchova.
The German men’s doubles team of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz is also successful at Wimbledon. The duo won their quarter-final against French pair Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul 7:5, 7:6 (8:6) and reached the semi-final for the second time after 2023. In the tiebreak, Krawietz and Pütz saved two set points and converted their first match point. In the semi-final, the seventh-seeded Germans face Marcelo Arévalo and Mate Pavic (No. 6). Two wins separate them from their first Grand Slam title together.
