Russian retailer Wildberries confirmed an attack on its logistics center in the Vladimir region, saying employees had been evacuated from the building. Governor Alexander Avdeev reported two injured.
Since mid-July, Ukraine has been striking Wildberries facilities, accusing the online retailer of also supplying goods for Russia’s war of aggression. Russian authorities call the attacks terrorist acts against civilian infrastructure.
Wildberries, increasingly in Ukraine’s crosshairs, holds a similar position in Russia to Amazon in the West.
According to economic analysts, Wildberries has lost about 20 percent of its warehouse capacity due to the strikes. The damage is estimated at 280 billion rubles (about 3 billion euros).
Wildberries is one of Russia’s largest online retail platforms, often dubbed “Russia’s Amazon” for its wide range of products.
Ukraine is increasingly countering Russia’s invasion with attacks on Russian territory.
Ukrainian strikes also hit other parts of the country. In southern Russia, authorities say three people were killed by falling drone debris. Thirteen others were injured, including several children.
On the Russia-occupied Crimean peninsula, the governor reported three civilians killed overnight.
In Belgorod, there were reports of attacks on the technical university, which is considered a regional center for drone development and testing. Official confirmation is still pending.
