Moscow's mayor says about 600 drones were fired at the Russian capital region overnight, with air defenses destroying 201 of them.

Ukraine fired about 600 drones at the Russian capital region overnight, according to Moscow’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin. He wrote on Telegram that 201 of them were destroyed by air defenses in the Moscow region. Most drones were intercepted before reaching their targets. The governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, called it one of the largest attacks in recent times.

Three people were injured in the city of Podolsk, about 40 kilometers from Moscow. A fire also broke out in a warehouse of Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, Vorobyov said on Telegram. Employees evacuated in time. Ukraine conducts large attack waves against the capital region almost daily. At the end of July, Russian authorities reported 390 drones in one night, and in early July, 452. Ukraine also attacks other parts of the country daily. Recently, Wildberries logistics centers have repeatedly been destroyed. The company confirmed the new attack in the Moscow region and said operations would continue through other facilities.

Russia, for its part, again attacked Ukraine overnight with ballistic missiles, glide bombs, and drones, according to Kyiv. Targets included the capital Kyiv and the industrial cities of Kremenchuk and Kryvyi Rih.
