TSV 1860 Munich will begin preparations for the Regionalliga season on Thursday in Bad Füssing, Lower Bavaria. The two experienced strikers Kevin Volland and Florian Niederlechner are missing. Their contracts were only valid for professional football and became void due to the forced relegation to the Regionalliga Bayern.
However, Niederlechner told the “Abendzeitung” that he does not want to abandon his hometown club despite the difficult situation. The native of Ebersberg had only returned to his youth club last summer from Hertha BSC. Volland was more reserved: the former national team player stated that “everything is still completely open.”
The training camp in Bad Füssing is made possible by a private benefactor. Originally, it was only planned for the U21 team. The final squad is likely to become clear only during the second training camp in Ulrichsberg, Austria (July 13–19), which has not yet been definitively confirmed.
