The knockout stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup enters its fourth day. On July 1, three round-of-32 matches are scheduled: England vs. DR Congo (6:00 p.m. CEST, ARD), Belgium vs. Senegal (10:00 p.m., ARD), and USA vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina (2:00 a.m. CEST, Magenta), as reported by Sportschau.

Ahead of the clash in Atlanta, midfielder Declan Rice expressed confidence: “When I look at this group now, I don’t think there has ever been a better group of penalty takers than England probably has now.” DR Congo are appearing in a World Cup knockout match for the first time. Coach Sébastien Desabre said: “We are the underdogs, not the favorites. The pressure is on England.”

Belgium face Senegal, who are also playing their first knockout match. The focus is on veterans Kevin De Bruyne (34) and Sadio Mané (34). Belgium’s 16-match unbeaten run is the longest of any remaining team. The USA must end a negative streak against Bosnia-Herzegovina: they have gone ten matches without a win against European teams. Coach Mauricio Pochettino called the record “pure coincidence.”
