The latest air strikes on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv are to be understood as a targeted threat against diplomats and foreign citizens. As WELT reporter Ibrahim Naber reports, cafés in the immediate vicinity of embassies were hit. Residents experienced a ‘night of horror,’ he said.
According to Naber, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called his US counterpart Marco Rubio. Lavrov recommended that Rubio withdraw US embassy personnel from Kyiv. The air strikes are part of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
