The incident occurred early Saturday morning. The two victims, a 31-year-old trans woman and a non-binary person, encountered the two men. Initially, the men are said to have insulted the non-binary person.

When the person did not respond to the insult, the perpetrators allegedly attacked them with punches, causing them to fall, according to police. The friend rushed to help but was also beaten to the ground. Even though both were on the ground, the perpetrators are said to have continued hitting and kicking them.

When several witnesses intervened, they fled, according to reports. Emergency services took the two injured individuals to a hospital for outpatient treatment of head wounds and abrasions. The State Security Service has taken over the investigation into the suspected queerphobic attack.
