According to a representative Civey poll commissioned by the Tagesspiegel, the CDU of governing mayor Kai Wegner would get 22 percent. Behind it are the AfD with 18, the Greens with 17, and the Left Party with 15 percent. The SPD reaches only 14 percent, landing in fifth place.
The coalition of CDU and SPD, in power since 2023, would lose its majority under these numbers. Possible coalitions would be three-party alliances of CDU, SPD, and Greens or of SPD, Greens, and Left Party. A government role for the AfD is considered very unlikely, as several parties have ruled out cooperation.
The FDP (4 percent) and BSW (3 percent) would fail to clear the five-percent threshold. Other parties together account for 7 percent. The election for the Berlin House of Representatives is scheduled for September 20. The survey polled 3,000 Berliners between May 28 and June 11; the statistical margin of error is 3.4 percentage points.
