The Grassau mountain rescue team was alerted on Mother's Day after an eight-year-old girl and her twelve-year-old brother disappeared during an outing with their parents and acquaintances in the Chiemgau Alps. The children got lost while hiking near Hochplatte, prompting an intensive search operation.
Rescue teams searched for several hours before finally locating the two children and bringing them back to their worried parents in a rescue vehicle. The family was reunited after about two hours apart.
