As reported by the Süddeutsche Zeitung, CSU Vice Chairman Manfred Weber has written a letter on the party’s policy direction. The letter has caused excitement within the CSU. Many party members interpret it as veiled criticism of CSU leader Markus Söder.
Political expert Ursula Münch doubts this interpretation. She sees no direct attack on Söder in the letter. Münch is director of the Academy for Political Education in Tutzing and is considered a profound expert on Bavarian politics.
