Drone Attack on Sumy: Three Dead, Including 13-Year-Old Boy

A Russian drone strike on a residential building in Sumy Oblast early on June 22 killed three people, including a 13-year-old boy. Three other family members were injured, the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office reported on Telegram.

The attack occurred at around 4:50 AM in Znob-Novhorodske, Shostka district. According to the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Russian forces struck the house of a large family with a drone.

The strike killed a 13-year-old boy, his 36-year-old father, and his 73-year-old grandmother. The 31-year-old mother, a 10-year-old brother, and a 13-year-old sister were injured.

Sumy Oblast in northeastern Ukraine has been repeatedly targeted by Russian drone and missile attacks since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Local authorities regularly urge residents to take shelter in bomb shelters.
