The decision was made on June 18, as a Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels learned. Instead of the usual six months, the sectoral sanctions against the Russian Federation will now apply for twelve months.
The extension is expected to be formally adopted on Thursday, June 25, provided that the ministers of all EU member states agree. The ambassadors’ approval is considered an important step before the formal adoption.
