According to Deutsche Welle, the EU’s 21st sanctions package includes an entry ban for anyone who served in the Russian armed forces during the invasion of Ukraine. The measure targets members of the Russian army regardless of rank or deployment location.
The package also targets the so-called shadow fleet that Russia uses to export oil while circumventing the price cap. Russian banks and cryptocurrencies are also to face new sanctions to make it harder to bypass existing restrictions.
