The European defense industry has undergone significant changes in response to Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. According to The Guardian, the mass production of drones is being accelerated, which are already revolutionizing warfare. A small company in the East Midlands, UK, called Skycutter is developing weapons for Ukraine, utilizing 3D printers to manufacture drone components.
Ukrainian companies are producing hundreds of thousands of such parts monthly, increasing the efficiency and speed of military production. The use of cost-effective and often autonomous drones has transformed the battlefield, as militaries are forced to constantly move to evade airstrikes.
Additionally, zn reports that European countries are under pressure to accelerate their arms production to reduce dependence on American manufacturers. This pressure is intensified by Donald Trump's unpredictable stance towards NATO, prompting the EU to allocate 800 billion euros for defense over the next four years.
