Ukrainska Pravda reports that the group allegedly used fabricated debts, falsified documents and forged court rulings to illegally take control of at least six apartments in Kyiv and Odesa. Investigators say those involved included employees of enforcement services, notaries, lawyers and other accomplices; some of the apartments were reportedly to be registered as ownerless inheritances.

For several of the properties, investigators estimate damages of more than 1.2 million hryvnias, more than 1.27 million hryvnias, almost 1.94 million hryvnias, more than 1.43 million hryvnias and more than 1.8 million hryvnias. As part of the ongoing probe, searches were carried out in courts, enforcement service departments, at notaries’ offices and at residential addresses.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, Ukrainska Pravda says; no further details have been released so far.
