Out of 127 delegates, 118 voted for Touré, six against, and three abstained. The deputy minister-president had already announced her candidacy in May. In her speech, she called for a confident and courageous campaign: “Restraint is not my nature.” She said she does not want the Greens to become the “greener CDU” but rather the “more social Greens.”

Touré is focusing on climate protection and social policy. She pointed to achievements of the black-green coalition, such as Baltic Sea protection, daycare improvements, and the anti-discrimination law. State party leader Gazi Freitag called the nomination “a totally great idea” and praised Touré’s leadership style: “Aminata doesn’t just talk, Aminata delivers.” Federal chairwoman Franziska Brantner also supported Touré, calling her an inspiration for many people nationwide.

The official election of the state list is planned for the end of November. The state election in Schleswig-Holstein will take place on April 18, 2027.
