The new version of KDE Plasma, 6.7, focuses on detail improvements. Each connected screen can now have its own virtual desktop, making multi-monitor work easier. Additionally, the virtual keyboard shows special characters when long-pressing a key, and a microphone test helps identify issues in online meetings.

The update introduces a toggle icon in the system tray, allowing users to quickly switch between light and dark mode. A new “Background Apps” system also monitors apps in Flatpak format. Printer support now shows the number of active print jobs, and network printers in Windows networks are easier to set up.

The software manager Discover features a more prominent “Install” button and redesigned app cards. Developers are also working on a theming system called “Union,” which can style Plasma, QtQuick, and QtWidgets apps with CSS. It is still in development and disabled by default, but can be installed as a package.
