Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has commented on speculation about taking over the German national team following their World Cup exit. “I haven’t thought about it yet. I understand my name is being mentioned now. But now is not the time to talk about it,” the 59-year-old said, according to 24tv.

Klopp has been without a coaching job since leaving Liverpool in summer 2024. Since early 2025, he has been working as head of football at Red Bull. Germany were eliminated in the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup by Paraguay – after a 1-1 draw following extra time and a 3-4 loss on penalties. It was the third consecutive tournament in which the German team failed to reach the quarterfinals.
