Leon Goretzka is set to move to AC Milan after concluding his time at FC Bayern Munich. The midfielder, who recently played in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain, has reportedly opted against a transfer to Juventus Turin. Goretzka is expected to sign a three-year contract with a base salary of five million euros.
In his last Bundesliga away match against Wolfsburg, Goretzka suffered a head injury when he was struck by a free kick in the 26th minute. Coach Vincent Kompany decided to substitute him at halftime after Goretzka complained of mild dizziness. "Leon took a brutal hit to the head from that free kick," Kompany explained.
Goretzka will be officially farewell on Saturday during the last home game against 1. FC Köln. His contract with FC Bayern was not extended, marking the end of his eight-year tenure in Munich. During this time, he established himself as a key player and is now seeking a new challenge in Milan.
His final appearance in a Bayern shirt could take place in the DFB-Pokal final on May 23 against Stuttgart. Goretzka has celebrated numerous successes during his time at Bayern and will be missed by the fans.
