Russia has unleashed one of the most extensive airstrikes on Ukraine since the war began. Air raid alerts were triggered across the country, with reports of at least one death and 16 injuries. According to Zelenskyy, the timing of the attacks is “no coincidence.”

Explosions were reported in Kyiv overnight, damaging several buildings. Rescuers managed to retrieve ten people trapped under the rubble of a collapsed residential building. The military administration of the capital reported at least one dead and 16 injured, while seven more injuries were reported in the surrounding areas.

On Wednesday, Russia had already attacked Ukraine with at least 800 drones, which is unusual for daytime assaults. President Zelenskyy mentioned more than 800 drones and reported at least six deaths and dozens of injuries. He labeled the attacks as “terror.”

Zelenskyy noted that the massive assault coincided with U.S. Donald Trump’s visit to China. He expressed hope that Trump could influence China to end its support for the Russian invasion.

The Ukrainian army is attempting to offset its personnel disadvantage at the front by deploying unmanned weapon systems, which is changing modern warfare.
