The Ukrainian capital Kyiv and the surrounding region endured another devastating night of war. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia deployed a total of 90 missiles and cruise missiles as well as 600 drones of various types. Air defense neutralized 604 targets, including 55 missiles and 549 drones. Nevertheless, impacts occurred. Video footage shows massive destruction of residential buildings.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video address that Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin had fired the Oreshnik intermediate-range missile at the city of Bila Tserkva in the Kyiv region. This is the first time this missile type has been used near the capital. The state-run Russian news agency Interfax confirmed the deployment, citing the Defense Ministry in Moscow. According to the report, Russia attacked with four different missile types: Oreshnik, Iskander, Kinzhal, and Zircon — all so-called hypersonic missiles.
The attack also hit the ARD studio in Kyiv. Emergency services are busy clearing debris from struck residential buildings and repairing the damage.
