Champions League winner Niklas Süle has joined Baden-Württemberg amateur side SV Tiefenbach. The 30-year-old confirmed the move to broadcaster Sky, explaining he is looking forward to experiencing football from a completely different angle – where it is solely about the sport itself, not about business or money.

At SV Tiefenbach, Süle will meet two of his closest friends, one of whom is the team’s coach. “After 13 years of professional football, it is an absolute gift for me to stand on the pitch with my buddies and fully enjoy the joy of this wonderful sport once again,” said the 49-time Germany international.

Süle announced his retirement in May. He began his professional career at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. In the 2017/18 season, he moved to FC Bayern Munich, winning five German championships, two DFB-Pokal titles, and the Champions League in 2020. In summer 2022, Süle joined Borussia Dortmund, where his contract expired at the end of the 2025/26 season.
