The family was traveling on the B12 between Stammham and Marktl in the district of Altötting on their way to Munich when their car collided head-on with a semi-trailer truck. A police spokesperson in Rosenheim confirmed that the three deceased, aged 46, 44 and two, were the father, mother and their toddler.
The truck driver suffered shock but remained uninjured. Police had initially reported an accident with multiple injuries. An expert is now investigating the exact cause of the crash; no details on the cause have been released yet.
