According to 24tv, Olha Freimut had returned to Kyiv from the United Kingdom on the evening of May 23, 2026. Just hours later, in the early hours of May 24, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, targeting nearly 700 sites. Freimut posted a series of Instagram stories showing how she experienced the assault.
She first shared a photo from a shelter – she and her children were in a car in an underground parking garage. Later, she showed the damage to her apartment: images of broken windows and shattered glass on the floor. “This is a terrible night. My apartment now,” Freimut wrote alongside the footage.
The attack also hit other civilian targets in Kyiv, including the Theater on Podil. Freimut, one of Ukraine’s most famous TV hosts, had announced her return from the UK just the day before.
