In the current legislative term, 232 of 630 Bundestag members have reported additional income or benefits in kind subject to disclosure requirements. This corresponds to more than a third of all MPs. The CDU/CSU parliamentary group has the highest proportion, followed by the AfD and the Greens. Green MP Ophelia Nick leads with the highest additional income of 2.7 million euros, followed by Alexander Engelhard of the CSU with 1.5 million euros and Sebastian Maack of the AfD with 439,000 euros.

Additional income must be disclosed if it exceeds 1,000 euros per month or 3,000 euros per year. The Members of the Bundestag Act allows secondary employment as long as the mandate remains the priority. Despite this disclosure requirement, Abgeordnetenwatch points to possible conflicts of interest and incomplete declarations.
