The peak of the Perseid meteor shower falls on August 12 this year. According to FAZ, this date coincides with a special new moon.
The first Perseids will be visible in the sky from mid-July. The number of meteors then steadily increases until the maximum.
In addition to the Perseids, Venus will also appear in the evening sky in July. The planet appears in the constellation Leo and is visible above the western horizon after sunset. Jupiter and Mercury, which accompanied Venus in June, will no longer be visible.
