Renars Uscins, the 23-year-old German handball national player, is leaving Bundesliga club Hannover-Burgdorf to join Paris Saint-Germain. The French club confirmed the transfer on Wednesday. Uscins has signed a two-year contract until 2029.

“Moving to Paris Saint-Germain Handball is a very important step in my career. It is one of the biggest clubs in Europe with great ambitions and a strong winning mentality,” said the backcourt player. “I look forward to getting to know this new environment, meeting my future teammates, and giving my best to help the team achieve its goals.”

The national player had already announced his departure from the “Recken” after the upcoming season at the end of May. “I am very proud of the past four years with the ‘Recken.’ At the same time, I know that I need new impulses to develop further both athletically and personally,” said the left-hander, who moved to Hanover in 2022 from the second team of SC Magdeburg. For the “Recken,” Uscins has scored 564 goals in 148 Bundesliga and cup matches so far.

The French perennial champions have high expectations for Uscins. “He is a modern player who can make an impact in all areas of the game. His profile fits perfectly with our ambitions for the coming years, and we are convinced that he will continue to develop at the club,” said Paris manager Thierry Omeyer.
