Investigators accuse the woman of killing her baby and disguising the act as an abduction. The boy’s body was discovered on Friday after a hours-long search, several hundred meters from the mother’s home. She had previously reported that her child disappeared from a stroller late in the evening when she briefly looked away.

Police stated that no evidence of an abduction emerged. A judge at the Stuttgart District Court issued an arrest warrant and ordered the woman into pretrial detention. The identity of the deceased infant was confirmed beyond doubt through a DNA comparison.

The exact cause of death remains unclear – whether homicide, accident, or sudden infant death syndrome is still under investigation. The criminal police and the prosecutor’s office are continuing their inquiries. Authorities have not yet commented on the father’s role.
