Russia attacks Ukraine with over 220 drones and missiles

Russia launched a large-scale overnight attack on Ukraine with over 220 drones and Iskander-M missiles, causing damage in nine regions, including Konotop, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa, the Kyiv Post reports.

Ukrainian air defenses intercepted most of the incoming weapons, but strikes still caused damage in nine locations. The hardest-hit areas include Konotop, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa, where energy and water supplies were disrupted. Civilians were killed and injured, though the Kyiv Post did not immediately provide exact casualty figures.

The attack comes amid heightened tensions, as Russia has repeatedly bombarded Ukrainian cities with drones and missiles in recent weeks. Ukrainian authorities accuse Russia of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure to terrorize the population.

In Konotop, gas and electricity supplies failed after the bombardment, and water supply was temporarily cut off. Local authorities are working to restore networks. In Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa, regional administrations reported damage to energy facilities, with repairs underway.
