Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk said in a national telethon that Ukraine’s systematic interdiction campaign has severely fractured Russian logistics to occupied Crimea. The Kerch Strait Bridge is closed to fuel tankers, and alternative ferry connections are structurally damaged by Ukrainian missile strikes and unusable.
According to Pletenchuk, the Russian military is now building false superstructures on fuel trucks to disguise them as civilian vehicles – such as milk or food transporters. This is meant to keep the convoys undetected on the land route through the occupied Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. “We have information that they are using vehicles for transporting food – for example, milk tankers – to move fuel,” Pletenchuk said.
Despite the successes, the Ukrainian Navy warned that the Russian military machine has not yet ground to a halt. The highly developed, multi-layered military infrastructure on Crimea still has sufficient strategic reserves for immediate operations.
