Russian forces struck Izyum in Kharkiv region early Friday, July 24, with guided aerial bombs (KABs). According to the Izyum city administration, they dropped three KABs on the city, one of which hit the Nova Poshta cargo terminal. The other two bombs struck a warehouse and an open area.
The attack damaged windows of nearby residential buildings, four vehicles, and power lines. Parts of the Izyum district were left without electricity. In Chernihiv region, Russian drones sparked several fires, the State Emergency Service reported. In Novhorod-Siverskyi district, a drone set a minibus and an outbuilding on fire; another attack hit an empty two-story dormitory. In Koriukivka district, the operations building of a gas station burned. No casualties were reported, and firefighters extinguished all blazes.
The regional power operator Chernihivoblenergo said that about 150,000 customers in the city of Chernihiv and surrounding areas were without power after damage to an energy facility. Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia launched five Kh-59/69 guided cruise missiles and 180 drones overnight, including Shahed attack drones and decoys of the Gerbera, Italmas, and Parody types. Air defenses intercepted four of the five missiles and 160 drones. One missile and 14 drones reached their targets at nine locations, while debris from intercepted drones was recorded at eight other sites.
