Ukrainian postal operator Nova Poshta has lost its largest automated sorting terminal in Kyiv to a Russian missile attack, the company said. CEO Yevhen Tafiichuk confirmed on Monday that the facility was completely destroyed. The terminal was the first of its kind in Ukraine and equipped with automated sorting systems from Dutch company Vanderlande.
“This terminal represented far more than a financial investment. It embodied the knowledge, experience, ambitions, and belief of thousands of people that Ukrainian companies can build world-class infrastructure even in wartime,” Tafiichuk wrote on Facebook. All employees at the site remained unharmed, he stressed.
The company said it immediately activated backup logistics systems to maintain deliveries. “Today the enemy destroyed the terminal. But it cannot destroy what matters most – the people who built it and the values on which our company stands,” Tafiichuk added.
