The Ukrainian authorities allow certain households to apply for a housing subsidy for the summer, which is the non-heating period. According to 24tv, the Pension Fund will decide in May whether the subsidies will be granted until September 30. The subsidy is only awarded to households that are unable to cover their housing and utility costs on their own.
The legal provisions clearly define who is eligible for this subsidy. However, all eligible groups can lose their subsidies if they do not meet the requirements of Government Regulation No. 848. The amount of the summer subsidy is calculated as the difference between the tariff for non-heated housing costs and the mandatory payment amount for the household.
Additionally, experts from the Pension Fund consider the average monthly total income of households during the relevant periods. This ensures that only the most needy households benefit from the subsidies.
