According to 24tv, Ukraine and Russia have agreed to a three-day ceasefire for May 9. This agreement holds both military and symbolic significance for the Kremlin, as Moscow aims to ensure the safe conduct of the parade for "Victory Day" on Red Square. The Ukrainian government has stated that it will also refrain from attacks as long as Russia does not undertake military actions.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had proposed at the end of April to initiate a genuine ceasefire starting May 6 to guarantee the safety of the parade in Moscow. However, Russia ignored this request and instead threatened attacks on Ukrainian decision-makers if the holiday were to be disrupted.

The significance of the parade for the Russian government is high, as it is seen not only as a military demonstration but also as a political signal of control over the situation in the country. Following several drone attacks in recent months, Moscow is no longer perceived as invulnerable, increasing pressure on the government.

On May 11, Ukrainian sources reported a drone attack on a supermarket in the Koraibelnyj district of Kherson, injuring four people. This indicates that despite the agreed ceasefire, fighting continues on other fronts.

Ukrainian forces continue to report successes at the front, while Russian troops are attempting to hold their positions. Andriy Kowalenko, head of the Center for Information Resistance, emphasized that fighting persists and Ukrainian forces are inflicting losses on the enemy.
