The Russian army attacked Ukraine with 84 combat and decoy drones on May 20. Ukrainian air defense destroyed 75 of these drones, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. Six drones hit their targets; details on damage were not specified.
The attack took place between 08:30 and 17:00. The Russians used Shahed drones (including reactive variants), Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodya decoy drones. The defense involved aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the defense forces.
According to the Air Force, the attack is ongoing, with several Russian drones still in Ukrainian airspace. On the night of May 20, the city of Konotop in the Sumy region was hit by a Russian attack, killing one person and injuring eleven others.
