According to Andrei Vorobyov, the governor of the Moscow region, at least three people have died in the Ukrainian drone attacks on the Moscow area. Four others were injured, and several houses and infrastructure facilities were damaged. Moscow's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, reported that over 120 drones were shot down in the last 24 hours, with at least twelve injuries recorded in the capital.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that a total of 556 Ukrainian drones were intercepted across the country. This information was disseminated by the state news agency Tass but could not be independently verified. The attacks on Moscow are part of a larger offensive by Ukraine, which also affected the Russian-occupied city of Sevastopol in Crimea.
In Sevastopol, several residential blocks and houses were damaged, and debris from a downed drone struck a high-voltage line, causing power outages. The city's administrative head, Mikhail Razvozhayev, reported that a total of 25 drones were shot down over various districts and the Black Sea, but no injuries were reported.
Russia annexed the Crimean Peninsula in 2014. Since then, Ukraine has regularly targeted Russian positions in the area to regain control over its occupied territory.
