Ukrainian defense forces have established seamless fire control over the logistics routes of Russian occupiers in the Mariupol area. This was announced by Mykyta Pus, a liaison officer of the 12th Brigade “Azov” of the National Guard of Ukraine, on June 8 at the New Age Defence Berlin in Germany.
The control extends 160 kilometers from the front line and covers the entire Donbas region, particularly the Mariupol district. According to Pus, this was achieved through a combination of Western technologies and Ukrainian developments.
The officer emphasized that the modern battlefield fundamentally differs from the traditional understanding of a front line. Instead of a clear line, there is a zone up to 40 kilometers wide where fortifications, bunkers, minefields, and firing positions of both sides are intermingled. The use of heavy equipment is significantly complicated because any movement is quickly detected and engaged.
