Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called the attack a war crime and demanded on X a significant acceleration in the delivery of air defense systems and interceptor missiles. “Decisions on air defense systems and missiles for Ukraine are needed now, not sometime later,” he wrote. Rescue workers continued searching for victims under the rubble of hit residential buildings and civilian infrastructure on Thursday.
Ukrainian diplomatic sources confirmed to Euronews that information about the attack had already been passed on to NATO partners, who are set to meet at a summit in Ankara next week. Kyiv is drawing the allies’ attention to the vulnerabilities of Ukraine’s air defense, particularly against ballistic missiles. Meanwhile, the Kremlin announced it would increase pressure on Ukraine to achieve its own war goals.
