The Ukrainian government has dismissed repeated allegations about US-funded biolabs as unfounded. According to Ukrinform, Ukraine emphasized that it consistently fulfills its international obligations under the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC).
In an official statement, the authorities pointed out that cooperation with the United States in the field of biosafety is solely aimed at strengthening public health capacities. These activities are purely civilian and not linked to military objectives.
Russia has been using the narrative of alleged “bioweapon development labs” in Ukraine for years, a claim that has been repeatedly refuted internationally. US Director of National Tulsi Gabbard had previously stated that the US government funds more than 120 biolabs in over 30 countries, including Ukraine.
