Ukraine destroys Russian fuel convoy near Armiansk in Crimea

Ukrainian forces struck a Russian convoy of about 50 trucks carrying fuel and ammunition near Armiansk in temporarily occupied Crimea, destroying part of the vehicles, Commander Dmytro Filatov said.

The attack was made possible because the Chonhar bridge, damaged by Ukrainian strikes, is impassable for traffic, Filatov, commander of the 1st Separate Assault Regiment, explained on the Suspilne broadcaster. The Russian occupiers are forced to use alternative routes through Crimea, including makeshift pontoon bridges.

Filatov emphasized that the operation succeeded only through coordinated strikes on Mariupol and the road to Berdiansk. These redirected Russian logistics so that supplies for the front near Huliaipole now go through Crimea. “We recognized this, quickly blocked their routes, and continue to weaken the enemy,” he said.

The Russian occupation authorities in Crimea announced that on June 11, fuel would not be sold due to a lack of tankers — another sign of disrupted supply.
