The attack struck an object on the grounds of a Moscow oil refinery, Sobyanin said. No one was injured, according to his statement. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky released a video purportedly showing the fire and praised the intelligence services for their effective work. The refinery lies about 500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Due to the drone alert, the four Moscow airports – Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo – temporarily restricted flights. Russia’s Defense Ministry reported shooting down a total of 172 drones over various regions but gave no information on hits or damage.

Ukraine is deliberately targeting Russia’s oil industry to disrupt military supplies and hit revenues from energy exports. In southern Russia, in the Krasnodar region, an oil storage facility caught fire. The attacks have already caused fuel shortages in many places, particularly on the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula.
