Ukraine’s Air Force issued a warning on June 11 that missile launches from Russia’s Kapustin Yar test site are expected within the next 24 hours. Russia launches Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missiles from this site.

On the night of May 24, Russia carried out a massive attack on Ukraine, using 90 missiles and 600 drones, including Oreshnik missiles. These attacks highlight the ongoing threat from Russian forces.

On June 4, Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin stated that the use of Oreshnik missiles serves to observe fragmentation effects for future decisions. This statement underscores the strategic importance of the test site for Russian military operations.
