The Berlin top-flight side followed up their 12-2 win the day before against Oberliga side Optik Rathenow with another emphatic result. In front of 2,500 spectators at the Stadion der Völkerfreundschaft in Lübben, the score was already 11-0 at half-time.
The first 25 minutes belonged to Tim Skarke (8′, 18′, 20′) and Ilyas Ansah (9′, 13′, 25′), who each scored a hat-trick. Mekhi Gray scored twice (15′, 16′) and again with the halftime whistle. Tom Rothe also contributed two goals (37′, 42′).
After the break, coach Mauro Lustrinelli sent out a completely new eleven. Livan Burcu (53′) and loan-return Chris Bedia (58′) added to the tally before Marin Ljubicic sealed the game with a hat-trick (59′, 68′, 81′). The striker received a yellow card in the second half and had to leave the pitch after another foul – though the referee did not show a second yellow.
After a day off on Monday, Union continues its summer preparations. The team will test against Chemnitzer FC on Thursday (6:30 PM) and against FC Carl Zeiss Jena on Sunday (3:30 PM) – both opponents play in the Regionalliga.
