This weekend, Hamburg will host the World Triathlon. Starting Friday, street closures and traffic disruptions are expected in the city center.

The World Triathlon Hamburg brings not only top-level sports but also massive traffic restrictions this weekend. Starting Friday, numerous streets in the city center, west of the Alster, as well as in St. Pauli and along the harbor, are closed. Police recommend avoiding the city center.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Sprint and Relay World Championships will take place. In addition to the elite men’s and women’s races, there are also open races for amateurs and the Para World Series for athletes with disabilities. Lombardsbrücke will be closed to vehicle traffic from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. The Wallringtunnel will be closed in both directions from Friday at 10 p.m. until Sunday at 8 p.m.

The organizer has set up a hotline at 0157/56 600 201, available from Thursday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. There are also interactive maps showing exact closure times for each street.
