A group of younger Green Party lawmakers from the Bundestag and the European Parliament has spoken out against raising the retirement age to 70. This emerges from a position paper reported by Spiegel. Timon Dzienus, co-author of the paper, said: “Like former CDU Labor Minister Norbert Blüm, we say: pensions must be secure.”

The position paper rejects any consideration of extending working life to age 70.
