Zelenskyy said Europe must have a strong voice in the talks. “It is worth deciding who will concretely represent Europe,” he said. The EU has several presidents – of the Commission, the Council, the Parliament – but no single leadership figure for difficult negotiations with Moscow.
Putin had proposed former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, who maintains close ties to Russia. This proposal was immediately rejected. Europe must now consider who can represent its interests, Zelenskyy said.
Meanwhile, Ukraine continued its attacks on strategic targets in Russia, including Moscow. At least four people were killed. Zelenskyy called the strikes “completely justified” and said they were a response to Russia’s prolongation of the war.
At night, Russia attacked again – with over 500 drones and 20 missiles. Zelenskyy called on Europe to do everything possible to ensure reliable protection against them.
