President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasized Ukraine’s central role for Europe’s security. As Ukrainska Pravda reports, he said: “Without Ukraine, without our capabilities and our experience, it can become extremely difficult for Europe.” Russia is pursuing a long-term anti-European strategy and is building military bases even where there were none during Soviet times.
Zelenskyy accused Moscow of bribing politicians to sell out national and European interests. “They end up like Orbán, but many still try to befriend Putin’s wallets and close their eyes to reality,” the president said. He stressed that Ukraine is not only implementing reforms but fighting for its independence and the freedom of all of Europe.
Ukraine is preparing for a diplomatically intensive week in which it expects to open six negotiation clusters in the EU accession process. Zelenskyy underscored that Europe’s fate is being decided in Ukraine — in this war and beyond.
