Japan’s Nikkei index fell sharply at the open, as did South Korea’s KOSPI and the Taiwan Weighted Index. Traders cited growing uncertainty about the further development of the technology sector, particularly artificial intelligence.

In addition, the mutual attacks between Israel and Iran are putting pressure on oil prices. Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are causing uncertainty in commodity markets and driving up crude oil prices.
